Give.

I knew that many of you would be stuffing boxes, whether you commented or not.

As many of you know, things have not been easy lately.  I HAVE to give GOD the glory for pulling me in so close to HIM during this time.  Weeks before Sabrina left God took me on a journey of grief, healing and preparation for things to come before any judge ever decided what was going to happen.  God told me she was leaving but I couldn't even say the words out loud because I wasn't ready to accept it.

I took a weekend to spend with HIM because I needed to figure out how to deal with what was going to happen.  As much as it hurt and I didn't want to hear that she was going home I was prepared for it.  After she went home, the very next day, my husband said to me "I am proud of how you are handling this" and I said, "What?  Did you think I was going to curl up in a ball and lay in bed for a week?" and he said, "Well..." - the truth is that is EXACTLY what I thought I would do as well.  But, I didn't - because I was ready.  Being ready doesn't make it hurt any less, it just doesn't demolish everything else in your life as well.

Anyway, the first book I read after I had my "meet with God" weekend was Crazy Love.  It is worth reading, and I am sure many of you have - but maybe not.

So, I decided that this should be my first give-a-way.  All you have to do it leave a comment and I will send you a copy of Crazy Love.  I haven't decided if it will be a brand new copy or my copy but either way you will get one.  Also, feel free to enter even if you have already read it, I am all about giving things away to someone God lays on our heart so feel free to give it away, if you want, I will even mail it to your friend myself.

So, leave a comment and I will draw a name and Crazy Love will show up in your mail box - or your friend's mail box.

Good luck!

I guess I should add that I will close the give-a-way on Friday, November 19th at Noon.

I love a good book! Sign me up for the give-away. :)

I'm glad to hear that you're healing. God is with you for sure. Of course know that He never leaves. It's just nice when you can feel the difference it makes through the grief.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Preparation is good, but like you said, it still hurts horribly. I'm interested in reading the book. I've not read it yet.

I am going to send you an email one of these days soon I hope.

It is so neat the way that God prepared you for this not at all easy experience. I thank you for sharing that journey with the rest of us.

I have been listening to some Francis Chan sermons and have been very blessed, but have not read his book. Would love to be entered in your first ever drawing.

Thank God that he prepares us for difficult times before they even happen! This book has been on my "must read" list for awhile now and I still have not gotten to it. How awesome of you to share what God is doing in your life :)

You're such an encouragement as we start this journey. Knowing that when I need Him He'll be there.

Great first giveaway.

I would love to read this book...I've heard wonderful things about it!

Thinking of you as you continue on this grief journey...your love for Sabrina shines through in all that you write. She is so blessed to have had you as mommy for a short while. I know she will never forget the time spent in your home!

Would you believe, I've listened to this on audio book, but I don't have a hard copy. Would love it!

After my step-dad died so unexpectedly I thought my mom would curl up in a ball and never face the world again. The circumstances were very tramatic for her and the hurt is so deep. I feel like she is feeling some of the very things you have been feeling and your writing always give me insight into this pain. Thank you for being honest and strong and a woman after God's own heart!

Sounds like a really good book...I haven't read it either. I've said it already, but it's amazing how God has helped you through this...I don't know if I could have handled it.

Oh good, I made the deadline. A large group in our church family did a Crazy Love study but Alayna was too little for me to participate at the time. I'm ready to read it now :) Sign me up! Happy Friday, btw :)
