It's always something.

Lizzy found a TINY rubber band right before bed and slipped it onto her wrist.  She wasn't able to get it off and I didn't find it until the next morning.

It had cut off some (thankfully not ALL) of the circulation to her hand causing it to swell up to almost twice its normal size.

Seriously.  I about died.

I got it off and was so upset.

How do you punish a kid for something like that?  By punish, I really do mean find a way to teach them not to do stuff like that.

I don't know what to do with her some days...what if it would have cut off ALL the circulation to her hand!!!

Yikes, hopefully the experience of that will be enough. I remember putting rubber bands on my wrist all the time around her age. Maybe you could get her a bracelet? I know the reason I did it was partially because it looked like a bracelet.

Our girls are twins. Seriously.

Summer did that once and when we caught it (wasn't that long) her hand was swollen and blue/purple. I will never forget that. Scared us so bad.

It's something I just have to check for because she's so sneaky and doesn't think about such things.

WHen they're 18 they won't be doing it...just a few more years.

My almost-3-year-old daughter puts everything in her mouth. EVERYTHING. Rocks, food on the ground, just anything she finds goes straight into her mouth. She chews on it like gum. It's starting to be a safety issue, and like you said how do you teach her to stop? Kids!
