My Baby.

Once in a while, still, I have to wander into the agency to drop off paper work or something. I cannot tell you how amazingly wonderful nice it has been to NOT have to go there for visits.

When you don't have to go there you feel like "A girl could get used to this" which makes me wonder if I really ever want to foster again. That is a post for another day.

So, back when we were up there more often for my kiddo's visits, I was always very weirded out at the thought that someone would think my son was a foster child. I don't know why, but the thought of someone thinking he was my foster child...well, no thanks.

It has been funny having the new baby. I haven't had much interaction with the agency, but there is a part of me that wants someone to be like "So, when are you going to fill out her seasonal clothing log?" just so I can say, "I DON'T HAVE TO SHE IS MINE!!!!"

Yeah, fostering has made me crazy.

But, it has made me enjoy all the crazy stuff I don't have to do even more.

I am so excited for Lizzy's adoption to be finalized!

If you do foster again switch your license to the state or another agency where there would be no more seasonal logs of any kind.

I cannot even imagine the feeling of telling someone that Sprout is MINE! I feel like I'm playing house! :)

?? seasonal logs? Never heard of it. Thankfully our State doesn't have some of the rules yours does. I don't go to the agency, either. They always come to me, including picking him up for visits. Seeing I have 6 kids, this makes like easier.

We *almost* got a call for a placement last weekend... And my husband said to me, "Don't you just want the summer off from visits? Do you really want to deal with that every week?"

I understand. I, too, am enjoying our first "normal" family life after 18+ months of continuous visits, phone calls, etc. Can't WAIT until we get done with the travel letters and other paperwork... Yep. I hear ya.

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your story. We are considering doing foster care and trying to get a realistic idea of what it will be like.
You blog has been really helpful in showing a balanced view. It seems like when you read people's short stories it either sounds too good to be true, or too horrible for anyone to put themselves through. I really appreciate it!
