I stopped giving my oldest dyes when she had the opposite reaction to benadryle. I had no idea is had red dye in it. From then on any dies she had made her super hyper and crazy. I never knew such things, not we limit them as much as possible.
My son is the same way, Jess...we found out on a plane ride that we tried to sedate him for(because he had an ear infection, NOT because we believe in sedating children), LOL. BIG MISTAKE! Ever since then, we've avoided dyes as much as possible.
I would have rolled my eyes at it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes in my son!

My kids break out and get stomach pains from blue dye. So weird! That stuff is cah-razzzy! Keep at it, mama!

Yeah, red dye isn't great. We stay as far as away as we can, except for the occasional birthday cake with red frosting.
Yep. Red dye is our biggest trigger.
