DHS called

they finally called...BUT they didn't call my agency to set things up.  :/  they just threw paper work together and fired it off to my social worker who has no authority to authorize any of this.

i called the placement director and told him that they said they wanted to borrow our bed.  he was mad that they never called the agency AND he said, that typically they don't let people "borrow their beds"...so basically they are all going to have to figure this out.

i gave our placement director the worker's name and #...the one who called me from DHS.  The person from DHS said that CPS wants this baby placed with us NOW, so that is good.

now we wait as my agency and DHS fight it out paper work style.  :(

i hope she is hope for Christmas, but am ready to accept that that may not happen.

What a mess! "Borrow your bed" ... what the heck is that?!

We had some bed-borrowing trouble with LJ, too. Thankfully, it only took a couple weeks to work it all out. I hope all your babies will be together for Christmas!!! :)

Oh my goodness. Move the baby and figure out the stupid paperwork later. UGH!!! So excited for you!

Borrowing beds is a very normal term and not at all unusual in this state. Essentially what it would mean is that the county where the case originated would oversee the case and retain control.

Just an educated guess here, your agency doesn't like the borrowed bed thing cause they wouldn't make any money off from this case and with most private agencies it is a chunk about the money.

Our home is licensed through the county/state. Checks come from the state. We currently have one borrowed bed--borrowed to another county and then borrowed from that county to a private agency. This will probably be the last time we will work with anyone other than a county. In other wards we will refuse to work with private agencies.

Yes, I am sure it is about the money. The only reason I am not super annoyed about this is because IF the judge allows visits it would my life easier if my agency controlled that. It is just the typical paperwork mess.

Praying they get this all worked out so she can be home for Christmas. What a mess they can make of things.
