Sorry I haven't been around the past few days.  My husband and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary over the weekend and I haven't quite gotten back in the swing of things.  If you are a fan at my "Mama Foster" facebook page you might have read that our adoption of our 7th child THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ALREADY was delayed because the adoption worker listed the wrong hospital in the space where they asked where the child was born.  I wanted to cry when she called and told me.  I know that is over dramatic and it really is not that big of a deal, but I was hoping that it was DONE.  It is very very close to being done, so I will just have to be patient.

Also, over in facebook land you may have seen a few of these floating around:
I have been having an absolute BLAST making these pictures and sharing them all over facebook.  I want people to see what TREASURES are awaiting them if they take the LEAP of FAITH to come find them!  It you want to see all the pics you can see them here:

If you want to submit a pic of your adopted child that USED to be a foster child feel free to message it to me over at my facebook page OR email it to me at

In other news, our "super not-so-secret" book is coming right along!  I am so excited for the day that it is finished and ready to launch into the world!  The stories are amazing and it is exactly THE book I was always searching for as I was getting ready to become a foster parent!  I wanted to know what it was REALLY like to foster and this book is exactly that!!!

I hope you all are doing good too.  If you get a chance, leave me a comment and tell me how your foster kiddos are doing!  I miss them!

I get what you're doing here and I think more people should foster. But I think getting to know the kid and making sure the kid has a safe place to live are the gifts--not necessarily getting to adopt the kid. I wouldn't want people to think of foster parenting as something you do in hopes of getting to adopt. Adopting a child who's been TPR'd is like that, but that's not most cases.

Stacy, I have been posting pictures of children who were reunited with their bio families as well (with permission). This little girl was adopted and I know many are returned to family. I know that I did not add that to my blog post.

And I agree, the kids themselves (adopted or returned) are the gifts.

what a great idea with the Photos! i can't tell you how many times people say, they can never do foster care because they couldn't give them back.

Of course. :)

Next week our very first foster child will be returned to bio mom. I think we're ok, but I always pictured it feeling like more of a success when reunification happened. Now it just feels like we'll have to fight to get him back WHEN he gets put back in the system. What a journey!
