spit.

Lizzy has been spitting.

And I have been loosing it.

I told her I am DONE with it.  If she did it again, no matter what time of day, she would have to stay in our dining room the WHOLE rest of the day by herself.

She decided to spit on my 2 1/2 year old at 3:45 pm yesterday.

So, she stayed in the dining room until dinner time.  She had dinner and then had to go right back in the dining room.

Yes, I felt like a monster.

But NOTHING gets to her.  She just does it again.

Towards 7:30 pm we let her come back out into the living room.

Shortly after she went to bed with all the other little ones.

She didn't spit on anyone today.

We'll see how tomorrow goes.

How frustrating! I'd be loosing it too. Sounds like you came up with a good solution though!

How did you get her to stay in the dining room?

Well, I suppose we can be monsters together, then. Sometimes you just do what you have to do. Little Star sat at the dining table one day from the time it was breakfast until it was time to pick up brothers from school (besides bathroom breaks). It worked for him as well...and longer than just the next day. Hopefully Lizzy will remember it for a while, too.

((hugs))

Diane, from the time she walked thru the door I have made her do things even if it meant holding her there myself. She has never been one of the ones that just rages or runs off constantly so part of it is her personality. If she were to get up I would move her to one of the baby cribs to sit in. After that I would have emptied her room of EVERYTHING and put her in there if she refused to stay in the crib for time out. I am a bit of a nut when it comes down to it because I WILL empty an entire bedroom of everything besides the bed if I have to.

Way to go! Keep it up! My foster-adopt daughter once had to "do nothing" - sitting in her room - for 2 days before she finally complied. All she could do was eat meals and go to the bathroom. 2 days! They can be stubborn but you are doing the right thing!
