I am aching for a call to come that won't.  I wonder what I should do with my need to foster when I cannot foster.

I'm glad you've come back :) And I'm also glad that your not-so-new-anymore kids have settled in well enough that you feel this way. I'm sure God will show you soon enough.

I have felt this way for the past year. We have still had one placement in our home but we were told we were "full". For a whole year we had six kids in our home. For the past year we have only had 5. There was a void. It needed to be filled with a child. God has taught me patience. I can't imagine not fostering but I may not have a foster child in my home for a long time to come. Its taken me a long time to accept that!

A large foster and adopt family in my church basically started a fostering type relationship with a young single mom and her little girl. It is neat to see that although they are technically full there is always room in their home for those in need of family.
